RVE was recently recognized with a Field Erected Storage Tank of the Year Award from the Steel Tank Institute/Steel Plate Fabricators Association (STI/SPFA). RVE received the award for the API 620 Low-Pressure Liquid Storage Tank Category for the design of the anaerobic digester system, featuring two Egg-Shaped Digesters, for the Gloucester County Utilities Authority (GCUA) in West Deptford, NJ.
“We are honored to be recognized for our efforts on this important project that benefits Gloucester County and the municipalities within it,” said Dennis K. Yoder, PE, PP, CME, Executive Vice President and Director of Engineering. “This new system has resulted in demonstrated energy savings for the GCUA and they are committed to providing educational opportunities for this unique project with future presentations at in-state seminars.”
RVE, Authority Engineer to the GCUA, managed the energy efficiency improvements and anaerobic digestion, along with the combined heat and power upgrade at the GCUA plant. The digestion system consists of 3.2 million gallons of liquid sludge volume shared by two egg-shaped anaerobic digesters and one 900,000-gallon sludge storage tank. This project is unique in that it created a brand-new state-of-the-art egg-shaped digestion process for the GCUA for the processing of their bio-solids.
