RVE was honored to receive a National Recognition Award at the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) 2023 Engineering Excellence Awards Gala for our Atlantic City Expressway Connector Resurfacing Project for the South Jersey Transportation Authority (SJTA). Accepting the award (from left to right in photo above) were Joseph Ragusa, PE, Frank Seney, PE and Annina Hogan, PE, RA, CME, LEED AP of RVE and Stephen M. Mazur, PE, Stephen Dougherty and Christopher Milam of the SJTA.
For this project, RVE provided engineering design and construction management services and also provided the initial budget cost to the SJTA under the general engineering consultant contract. The Connector, a series of mainline roadways, bridges, tunnel and local roadways, had not been resurfaced since its inception in 2000. RVE prepared the construction documents and assisted with the bidding process. Strict schedule adherence was critical to avoid construction during the high-volume travel season. Despite several constraints and challenges, the Connector resurfacing was completed by Memorial Day and provided a significant improvement to a key part of Southern New Jersey’s infrastructure.
