Ish Sud Receives ASHRAE Distinguished 50-Year Member Award

RVE Regional Manager Ish Sud, PhD, PE was honored by the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) with a Distinguished 50-Year Member Award for his contributions to the Society over the past five decades. This honor is given to individuals "who have been an ASHRAE member for a minimum of 50 years and are either a past Society president, Fellow ASHRAE or Distinguished Service Award recipient or who have performed outstanding service to ASHRAE or its predecessor society." Ish was presented the award during the 2025 ASHRAE Annual Conference in Phoenix, AZ.

Ish is a highly accomplished mechanical engineer with over 50 years of expertise in MEP design, resource conservation and sustainable engineering. Throughout his career, he has been an active member of ASHRAE and was recognized as an ASHRAE Fellow and Distinguished Award Recipient. He has also been involved with Technical Committees, including serving as Chair of TC 9.6, Systems Energy Utilization, and has helped author several ASHRAE Guidelines and Standards.

Ish founded Sud Associates in 1979, developing a project portfolio that encompasses engineering design, energy/sustainability expertise, study and research services for an array of mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection projects for a variety of facilities. In 2022, Sud Associates joined the RVE family, establishing the firm’s North Carolina footprint with offices in Asheville and Durham.
