Middletown Township recently cut the ribbon on the first municipality-installed DCFC EV charging stations in PA. The four charging stations installed at the Middletown Township Municipal Center were funded by a $215,000 grant from the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection’s Alternative Fuels Incentive Grant program and a $60,000 PECO EVsmart rebate.
RVE assisted Middletown Township staff with obtaining the grants for this project. RVE served as design engineer for a design-build new parking lot area to accommodate the EV charging stations. As part of our comprehensive approach, we integrated the installation of the charging stations with the Township's 2023 Road Program Contract in order to optimize efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
RVE provided construction management and construction inspection services and the charging stations were brought online by the Township’s electrical contractor. This team effort is part of the Township’s move toward improving sustainability in addition to providing residents and visitors with accessible, efficient charging options.
