RVE was retained by CB Richard Ellis (CBRE) to provide all mechanical, electrical, fire protection and plumbing engineering, design and construction monitoring services for the creation of Variable Acuity Care Units located on the 7th floor and 12th floor of the Snyder Pavilion at the Allegheny General Hospital Campus. RVE was tasked with preparing plans for Department of Health (DOH) and City building code approvals and bid documents. RVE’s project team compressed the time frame for the normal design process while reviewing alternate systems and fixtures to meet the owner’s needs. The aggressive time schedule required daily communication with the owner and contractor. Any Requests for Information (RFIs) or shop drawings were received and responded to within 24 hours. In addition, there were weekly design/construction meetings where the project was discussed and solutions for plan revisions were made.
