RVE provided comprehensive planning and site/civil design services for a transformative redevelopment project in the City of Allentown. The project involves the demolition of a historically significant but vacant structure, the former Neuweiler Brewery, to make way for a seven-story, mixed-use development. This new building will feature approximately 283 residential units and 40,000 square feet of commercial space at the prominent corner of Front Street and Pump Place. RVE played a pivotal role in the site’s stormwater management, implementing advanced Best Management Practices (BMP) including an innovative vegetated roof system to optimize water retention and runoff control. The team developed detailed post-construction stormwater management plans, as well as erosion and sediment pollution control plans, ensuring full compliance with environmental regulations. Additionally, RVE prepared and submitted all necessary reports, applications and modules for the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permitting, securing essential project approvals. Throughout the permitting process, RVE acted as the central point of coordination between the architect, construction management team and various subconsultants. The firm’s project management expertise ensured smooth communication and alignment across all stakeholders, while maintaining close collaboration with the client to guide the project from inception through approval.
