In January 2018, RVE conducted an Elevated Water Storage Tank Feasibility and Sizing Study to examine the need for a new elevated tank in the Eastern Water Service Area. The scope of the study was to first determine if a new tank was needed, secondly, to determine the required size, and thirdly to determine the proper location for the tank to be installed. An hour-by-hour analysis of demand vs. storage, under relevant peak flow conditions on a summer weekend with a concurrent fire demand, indicated that a new 1.5MG storage tank was required. RVE provided engineering design and construction phase services to Manchester Township for the construction of a new welded steel water storage tank, appurtenant facilities, and distribution system improvements for connection. The new tank is a 1.5-million-gallon fluted column welded steel water storage tank located at Harriet Avenue and Wilbur Avenue in Manchester Township, Ocean County. Construction of the new tank includes foundation, tank structure and accessories, piping, valves, fittings, electric and controls, site improvements and all appurtenant equipment needed to properly install, test and place the new water storage facility into permanent service, including connection to the water distribution system
In-house NACE and SSPC trained inspectors provided paint and coating inspection including climbing.
