Under RVE’s On-Call Mechanical and Electrical Services Contract with the Authority, the firm provided professional engineering services for the Benjamin Franklin Bridge Toll Booth HVAC and Maintenance Building Boiler Replacement. The scope of work consisted of the demolition and removal of one packaged unit, variable air volume boxes, electric reheat coils, condensing unit, registers, piping, controls, and related accessories serving the Benjamin Franklin Bridge Administration Building Toll Plaza and the installation of one new packaged air conditioning unit (heating and cooling), electric reheat coils, ductwork, registers, and associated piping, controls, electrical conduit/wiring and related accessories. This scope of work also included the installation of a temporary air conditioning unit and all related accessories, the demolition and removal of one existing cast-iron sectional boiler, pumps, piping, controls, and related accessories serving the Ben Franklin Bridge Maintenance Building and the installation of two new high efficiency condensing boilers, pumps, and associated piping, controls, electrical conduit/wiring and related accessories. Additional work also included the installation of a temporary boiler, pump and all related accessories, the removal of the existing toll booth plenum space enclosures and accessories and the installed of new toll booth plenum space enclosures and accessories.
