Benefits Coordinator

Remington & Vernick Engineers is a rapidly growing company.  The position requires someone to use their energy and drive to assist employees with benefits enrollment and questions, manages all insurance billing, maintains employee database and files, and assists with benefits related payroll processing.

  • Assist in administration and open enrollment of various employee benefits programs, such as group health, flexible spending accounts, dental and vision, accident and disability, life insurance, 401(k), and wellness benefits.
  • Ensure the accuracy of all benefits enrollments in the HRIS to provide vendors with accurate eligibility information.
  • Coordinate and conduct benefits orientations & explain benefits self-enrollment system.
  • Maintain employee benefits filing systems and ensure benefits changes are entered appropriately in payroll system for payroll deduction.
  • Assist employees with health, dental, life and other related benefit claims. Processes leave-of-absence requests and paperwork: medical, personal, disability and FMLA.
  • Verify the calculation of the monthly premium statements for all group insurance policies and maintain statistical data relative to premiums, claims and costs. Resolve administrative problems with the carrier representatives.
  • Prepare COBRA and exit interview packets, Track COBRA payments and update benefit portals at off-boarding.
  • Review and respond to unemployment claims and monthly statements with appropriate documentation.
  • Coordinate workers’ compensation claims with third-party administrator.
  • Assist HR Director in obtaining statistics and information in renewal process of any health, life and retirement plans that benefit the company.
  • Prepare and set up meetings designed to help employees obtain information and understand company benefits and other related incentive programs. Ensure distribution of required employee notices.
  • Prepare and maintain Monthly employee reports. Maintain and update company organizational charts, responsible charge, milestone lists, and other requested reports as needed.
  • Assist HR Director in completing benefits reporting requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Experience in general Human Resource functions is preferred.
  • Strong scheduling and organizational skills; Strong ability to multi-task.
  • Excellent inter-personal skills, communication skills and Relationship Management.
  • Proficient in Excel, Outlook and other web-based programs
  • Experience in general Human Resource functions is preferred.
    Knowledge of Engineering Industry a plus.
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field, but experience and/or other training/certification may be substituted for the education.
  • Three to Five years’ experience in HR and/or benefits administration.
  • Valid driver’s license
  • SHRM certification and/or membership preferred

This position has no supervision responsibilities.


While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works in the field and may be exposed to outside weather conditions. Work requires frequent and prolonged computer use. Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.
