West Deptford Schools Improvements

Remington & Vernick Engineers (RVE) was retained by West Deptford Township Public Schools to provide engineering and construction management support services for the renovations of Township schools.
West Deptford High School & Oakview Elementary School Roof Replacements

The project consisted of the complete removal and replacement of the roofing systems at various high school roof sections and the Oakview Elementary School 1999 Wing. The roofing systems were replaced with an ethylene propylene diene membrane (EPDM) roofing system with proper slope to area drains, and downspouts. The replacement of the fascia, flashing, roof drains and downspouts, as well as the replacement of various condensing units, were also included in the scope.

Electrical & Fire Alarm Renovations

Electrical and fire alarm renovations were provided for West Deptford High School, West Deptford Middle School, Greenfields Elementary School, Oakview Elementary School, and Red Bank Elementary School. Work consisted of the removal and replacement of electrical panels, fire alarm systems, corridor ceilings, and accessories for all five schools.

Roof Top Units (RTU) & Domestic Hot Water Heater (DHW) Improvements

RTU and DHW improvements were provided for West Deptford High School and West Deptford Middle School. Work consisted of the removal and replacement of 13 packaged rooftop units. The new RTU units were completely connected and integrated into the existing BAS system. Domestic hot water heaters, associated pumps, piping, expansion tanks, and accessories were also removed and replaced.

Improvements to West Deptford High School Athletic Fields

The project consisted of improvements to the high school athletic fields. The fields included football, girls lacrosse, boys lacrosse, soccer, and the adjacent softball outfield. Work included the stripping of the existing topsoil, tilling of the subbase, and rough grading of the above-mentioned fields to accommodate new field layouts and proposed drainage patterns. Existing storm piping and drainage structures were removed from the football field and replaced with new drainage piping. Base repairs were completed to the existing track with the installation of new structural spray wearing coats to the entire track surface, including new striping and logos. The existing grandstand bleachers were completely removed and replaced. Work also included new concrete footings, slabs, and ADA-accessible walkways throughout the football field complex. Existing fencing was removed throughout and replaced with new ornamental and vinyl-coated fencing. All disturbed areas were sodded and seeded accordingly. The project was completed substantially ahead of schedule allowing the District to utilize the football field for the final two home field playoff games.

West Deptford High School Library Renovations

The project consisted of the complete renovation of the high school library into a new, state-of-the-art media center. The demolition of interior space included the removal of doors and frames, acoustic ceiling, lighting fixtures, power and data cabling, flooring, metal stud partitions, miscellaneous furniture, shelving, and accessories. New finishes included the installation of new acoustic ceiling grid and tile, upgraded LED lighting fixtures with dimming capabilities; doors and hardware; flooring and base; and wall finishes. Recessed power and data outlets were installed in the floor and coordinated with furniture and table layouts. All furniture was equipped to support mobile technology devices, including large teaming tables with shared screens for multiple users. The school color scheme was incorporated throughout the finishes, including multi-colors and patterned carpet tiles, wall finishes, furniture trims, and fabric selections.

West Deptford High School Lab Renovations

The project consisted of alterations of the existing shop space and associated rooms into a new science laboratory, complete with associated storage and prep rooms. It also included the renovation of six additional science laboratory spaced and associated rooms.
